I couldn't put this book down. Throughtout the whole book I was routing for Leslie to get away from this awful man. I couldn't believe she kept going back after each attack. Shocking that some women live this way.

Read this on the recommendation of a GoodReads friend. I really enjoyed this one! Some of the writing seemed cliched, but the story itself was very interesting. I've never been to India, so I liked seeing it viewed through the eyes of the different characters.

I wanted to love this book, I really did. But the trend in AA fiction is always a woman feeling like she needs a man. I enjoyed reading about her journey although at times I found her quite hypocritical at times but that is neither here nor there. It was a good book and I enjoyed it, I just wish so much of the book wasn't about another Black woman who needs a man.

Read this book twice the spring of my junior year of high school and still managed to fail the multiple-choice test given by my honors English teacher, Mrs. Potter, because she would give three correct choices (out of four), and I always chose the one that was "less" correct.

After reading this book, I sure as hell am going to donate my body to science. Who wouldn't want their corpse to be used as a crash test dummy? That rocks!
