Never mind that the heroine is only 11. They story is well done.
This is one of the most innovative novels I've read, and what makes it even more remarkable is that it's a juvenile book. That being said, parts of the novel defy space and time and some of the concepts may be a little hard for children to wrap their minds around. I, at age 25, found myself having to reread certain passages so I could make sure I was properly following the story. Besides that, the novel is a great coming of age story and it took me back to my pre-teen years, where everything was confusing and new and exciting all at the same time. A must read for sure.
