Ni mucho ni poco... Entretenida, romántica, agridulce. Novela de memorias (y ya sabemos que todo tiempo pasado fue mejor... quizás por que ya pasó). Se puede leer.
Bill Bryson puts the fun in history, and I need that to want to listen (or care, really). I bought the book, too, but his voice is just so funny when he's reading his work!
Should replace every history book in the US.
Finally finished. I had put it down, I don't know why. And then picked it back up again. He's a great writer and the ending is sad. An enjoyable read. I might re-read it.
Pete is looking forward to his freshman year. He's confident that his status as a star pitcher on the baseball team will bring him success, popularity, and of course, attention from girls. Unfortunately, an injury brings Pete's baseball career to an end. He can't bring himself to admit to his best friend that he's out of the game for good, and he's stressed out because his grandfather is starting to show early signs of Alzheimer's. But a pretty girl in his photography class just might help Pete turn his freshman year into something good after all.... As always, Sonnenblick tackles tough issues in a realistic way, but with humor and warmth. San Lee, the main character from Zen and the Art of Faking It, appears as a minor character in Curveball, but it is not necessary to read Zen... first. Although if you haven't read it, you'll want to (along with Sonnenblick's other books) after you read Curveball because Sonnenblick is such a great writer!
