I loved this book and how it closed the Harry Potter series. After reading 6 of the books in the series, the reader might think they knew each of the characters pretty well and exactly how this book might play out however I was glad to see that J.K. Rowling threw a wrench into this story and made it very different from the rest. The story was probably geared more for adults but it was great to see characters that had always been perfect falling to their weaknesses, such as when Ron left or the stories about Dumbledore. The story was not set at Hogwarts, which made me feel a little lost in beginning since all prior books had followed that pattern, but I quickly over came that and loved the unexpected rambling twists of the story line. I also enjoyed the back story about Snape and Harry's parent. I was surprised in the previous book that Snape was the Half-Blood Prince and was more surprised that Snape and Lilly had been childhood friends. The only thing I missed was a story about James and Lilly - we only ever saw James as harry's father or as the teenager that made fun of Snape. I wish there had been a story that redeemed him. Over all though I loved the book, I loved how the characters left off and I'm sad that there aren't any more books to read!
