Very readable. I flet like I was sitting down with an old friend as she cought me up with what had been happening in her life. What is a "normal" childhood anyway? Most of the time parents are doing the best they can,with good intenetions. Sometimes distance gives perspective. And I love reading books that I feel like I'm learning something too (not just a good story). I learned a lot more about yoga and added about a dozen new words to my vocabulary.
A Bryson romp through science and history. Pretty amazing in the breadth of facts it presents, but not his best work. It lacks the wit for which I've come to love Bryson so much.
