I honestly searched for this book on a lark. I was wondering if it would even be listed since it isn't so much a book as it is a bunch of pictures pasted together in book format with some blurbs along side them. Well, here it is! lol I picked this book up on sale at Barnes & Noble for $6. The pictures are very high quality and simply breathtaking. 5 stars because the pictures are the best quality I've seen anywhere. (Now if only I could find a Brando one, my life would be complete.)
This book was recommended to me by my friend Stephanie, and I really wanted to like it, but for me, it fell victim to "school book" syndrome - I can see its merit, and why it's a classic, but I didn't like it as much as I felt like I was supposed to like it. This story of a small town and the characters that populate it (the poor tomboy from a poor family, the deaf man, the bartender) just didn't hit the mark for me.
