I really thought this book was pretty stereotypical and quite racist. Why? Because almost all the characters were from Latino descent or something and majority of the older people were portrayed as coming from a low-income family with little or no intellect. However, despite the stereotypes, I enjoyed the plot especially the columns of the battle-of-the-sexes because it gave depth to the characters. Though the ending was extremely predictable, it was still an absolutely hilarious ride because it was funny reading the two authors - Scoop and Newshound - bash each other out and when you find out who exactly is Scoop, you'll die laughing. Luisa is just an average teenager who wants to make herself known to people other than her family and close-knit of friends. Though her family background is completely different from mine's, I could relate with her need in fitting in and with her need in finding a boyfriend. Everyone's always looking for a boyfriend these days. Quite depressing, really. I loved how she went from zero boyfriends into having quite a few guys interested in her. It seems unrealistic but it was an entertaining thing to read about. Overall, Girl v. Boy is an interesting spin on the battle-of-the-sexes that will appeal to high school girls.
