We were assigned to read this in my high school French class...
So very hard to read, but such an amazing book. Laurie Halse Anderson is hard to beat.
Rogers does an excellent job of allowing readers into the most intimate and vulnerable relationships in one's life: therapist and client. Not only does Rogers see the value in spending time after each session with a client, to analyze, process, and make sense of the interactions, but she reminds clinicians of the importance of "listening" and finding meaning within language. Clients often say more than we think they say, and if we listen close enough, we will be able to hear them.
