I liked this book quite a bit. It's a nice little 19th century mystery, with all sorts of unravellings throughout...sort of like the protagonist herself. You can see what's coming, but not quite - sort of like looking through the winter ice of the lake where she lives. I would have rated it 3.5 stars if possible for the intrigue and readability. I was able to "down" this book over a weekend, and it didn't disappoint.
