I found myself folding over several page edges as I read through this. It's a great story about love and its disappointments. Moreover, the language is fresh and sharp. I had hoped for a warm revisit of the work when the movie version came out, but I couldn't have been more disappointed - what a terrible manipulation of the storyline and misuse of good actors. Also, I felt Ann was miscast - Claire Danes has to learn that there's more to acting than just whining.
