I'm could describe Blood Feud the same way I described Hearts at Stake. A great book for vampire fans looking for a fun, fast and entertaining read. I'd even recommend this for non-vampire fans. This was just a feel good, make you laugh, can't stop turning the pages....awesome book! I took it with my on vacation and it was perfect! I would have to describe these novels as my "guilty pleasure" vampire novels. And I call them guilty pleasures because they aren't exceptionally written, and that's not to say Harvey isn't a great writer because she is, and the plot is a little bit predictable...I mean we know these two people are going to get together. Yet, at the same time, these books are incredibly addicting and surprising! Blood Feud, like Harvey's other books, is told in alternating perspectives, however, this time the perspectives are that of Logan and Isabeau. Also something a little different which I really enjoyed were the glimpses into Isabeau's life before she was turned. She lived in France during the times of Marie Antoinette and King Louis XVI and survived the French Revolution. This was a delightful historical twist of the novel that I was not expecting and I found it interesting to learn about the different "tribes" of vampires and their cultures/traditions. Isabeau, being a Hound Tribe Princess really added an interesting aspect to the storyline. I do have to admit besides the predictable plot line between Logan and Isabeau, I was very shocked at the ending of a particular plot line within the book.....I was thinking that it would be carrying us through the entire series, but I guess that's not the case at all. Loved the characters of Logan and Isabeau, but I really missed Lucy. She's the comic relief of the Drake gang, even though she is only dating a Drake and isn't an actual Drake herself. While I enjoyed this installation to the series immensely, I found that I truly missed Lucy's snark and all of her witty remarks and hilarious disregard for authority! This is a fun series with great characters and engaging plot. I just can't get enough! Eagerly awaiting more!
Can't appropriately categorize this book since it has a fantasy or sci-fi twist to it - so I left it at "fiction", but it's a delight. What reader hasn't had the desire to jump into her favorite book? Now I'll have to re-read The Eyre Affair.
