Sookie’s life is complicated. Her brother is showing all of the signs of becoming a were-panther and the timing couldn’t be worse—a sniper has apparently set sights on the shapeshifting population of Bon Temps. You would think that would be bad enough, but it isn’t—since Jason was ‘made’ a were-panther by a natural were-panther’s attack, the local shapeshifters think he may be the sniper. In between pacifying the shapeshifters and trying to find the sniper, Sookie is reluctantly pulled into an unsettling werewolf ceremony (yuck!). She’s also hosting a pirate vampire, trying to protect her friend Tara from one of the scarier vampires and, oh yeah, someone tried to burn down her house. I suppose, with this much danger, it’s only fair that she has several supernatural hotties vying for her attention—her fairy godmother may lighten her mood but even a fairy godmother can’t protect her from every situation she gets herself into.
