This was an airport purchase, but I ended up reading the thing pretty quickly. It's a short, quick read. Coelho's outlook is a little too rosy for my tastes, but that's not to say it's not a decent read. Liked it, didn't love it. I did learn a little about Slovenia, though.
I loked forward to reading this book. I will admit that the food descriptions were amazing and I loved that part of the book. The problem that I had with this book was really only a few of the pages but it was a big deal to me. It talked about Jesus being just an ordinary man and that he didn't really die on the corss nor was he ressurected. It was only in a page or two but I still felt very uncomfortable reading it. It also had a very sad ending, I really would prefer to read a book with a happy ending. The author is amazing at setting the scene though and as afore mentioned, the descriptions of the food are tantalizing.
A good follow up to Ishmael, from a slightly different perspective.
