This book is purely human. It is epic in length, lathed on the high-drama of biblical allusion, and wrapped in American dreamism. But ultimately it is a testament to family and history, and their interactions on the present. John Steinbeck wrote this book for his kids and not for America. This might be why it is not "The great American novel" like "Grapes of Wrath" is, but instead is unequivocally better . . . in my opinion.
This book is absolutely AWESOME!!!!!!!! I love it! It has a lot of interesting spells.
