I thought the writing was sort of simplistic, and it's pretty obvious from the beginning what is going to happen, but the story does end up drawing you in.
** spoiler alert ** Good book, I think I probably enjoyed Frostbite and Blood promise more but it was still good. I like house Mead has brought back Dimitri since everyone knows that he is the one who is supposed to be with Rose. Adrian is a great guy and it is sad to think of what is happening to him because of the bond between Rose and Dimitri but you can't help but feel that R & D are meant to be. It is sad how Dimitri is pushing her away but I think Mead has found a believable and entirely possible way for him to realize that he loves her too much to stay away from her. It's obvious already in the end of the book. I love the way that Mead is able to convey totally natural emotions that everyone has felt. Rose's jealousy about Dimitri's devotion to Lissa when he rejects her so strongly is so honest and believable. Mead is fantastic at making Rose connect to the reader, at least for me.
What a great book...i'm so glad Laura recommended this. So fun and charming.
