The collection of Browning poems that one should read if he or she has not read Browning before. It really has all the good ones (not that any are particularly bad). I think my favorite is "Master Hugues of Saxe-Gotha."
I'm not crazy about a lot of Berrigan's poetry. His writing is sometimes stiff and stilted. But his passionate commitment to peace and justice underlie his every word and make this a great introduction to his thought and work.
I did like the book and finished it. I never really got into it enough to feel like I HAD to read it. I didn't expect how the plot came out. I'm wanting to read the next novel in the series, so it was definitely good enough to give the next book a try. A little slow going for me, but a good read if you like amateur sleuth mysteries. UPDATE: Changed it from a 4 to a 5. It was a bit slow going for to get into, but I just finished book 5 and can't believe I ever didn't think of this as a 5. I have loved reading this series.
