Kalzom itibaren Çayırlı Köyü
Not a bad story overall, but the magical world was revealed in heavy-handed infodumps and it was hard to care about the main character who kills for a living. The author makes a point of calling her an "assassin" and never a hit woman, but that's all she is. By the time you start to empathize with her past, through flashbacks to the old man who took her in out of the alley and taught her to kill, it's a little too late. Also, the surprise reveal at the end? Not so surprising, with clues that thump you over the head hard enough to leave a lump.
I loved this book. It is beautifully written, and Franzen has a way of making you feel like you can intimately relate to all his characters, even if you have nothing in common with them. I got so involved with this book and couldn't put it down after I started it.
