Thanks to Goodreads giveaways for another great book! This was a painful book to read, since I knew from the beginning (it's in the description given on Goodreads) that three of his daughters and a niece were killed by a rocket attack on his home. But, I think it's important because the book is really about life and a shared humanity. It gets a little preachy at the end, but it's because Dr. Abuelaish has a very vital, urgent message to get out about coexistence and peace. It's frustrating to see the same old escalation of violence in the middle east, and to know that the majority of people want it all to end in a fair, equitable way. But, like in the U.S., the leaders are at the extremes; unable to do what's right for fear of alienating the small minority of extremists in their constituencies. It's time for the reasonable majority to take control!
