I just finished this during my lunch break. And the ending was a punch in the face - that left me hanging. So now I gotta read the third book! There's so many sci fi elements to this book that I can't wait to see the first one on the big screen. While reading this one I kept imagining what the arena would look like and how they would use special effects to depict all tortures and crazy fights scenes. Suzanne has a great series here that holds its own with the likes of Harry Potter and Twilight - read the former not the later. If you need an easy fun - but page turning intense read that will remind you of your days as a kid when you used to read books under the covers by flashlight. The Hunger Games series is just that.
If you don't feel like plowing through one of mammoth bios of the great magician, try this one. At 95 pages, it was very good.
The writing was clear and interesting, but ultimately couldn't compensate for the subpar storyline.
