Amber Hopkins is slightly different than that of her peers but has had a difficult life to say the least. She has overcome adversity, neglect, abandonment, and loneliness. Amber has forced herself to shield her feelings from the world and place a tough exterior shell in order to survive. Fate plays a hand to the young teen and she finds a loving home where she learns to grow both physically and mentally around those who have welcomed her in out of kindness. She now must learn to accept and allow new feelings into her heart and soul that have been burried for most of her life as she struggles to recognize another element that has risen from deep within her. Can she control what she does not understand and will this new phase destroy her and those she loves? I immediately enjoyed the main character Amber and her tenacity. Raine Thomas does a beautiful job of describing characters as well as having original ideas for the plot. The strong connection and friendship between Amber and Gabriel had me hooked from beginning to end and I felt the butterflies flutter each time the two had a conversation or interaction. I am looking forward to the next book to see what becomes of the triplets and their adventure.
A GREAT great book. I loved this one.
