Bunu gençken okuduğumu ve gerçekten sevdiğimi hatırlıyorum. Son zamanlarda tekrar okudum ve oldukça hokey buldum! Ah, 10 yıllık fark bu, sanırım.
I have to admit that after finishing this book I am not sure what it was trying to be. Its not a mystery but has mystery elements, its not a horror but has the delapidated mansion falling down around the occupants, its not a psychological thriller but has dementia and other mental disorders and on it goes. I felt that this book was truly just OK (but if there were half stars I would give it 2 1/2). It wasn't awful and had some good writing in it. At moments it was very good but overall the effect left me flat and just a bit puzzled. Somehow the author managed to make all of the big events in this book seem very small and maybe that was her intent. The narrator certainly was an interesting choice and I think worked well because it allowed us to see the world as she sees it but also allows us glimpses of what are just out of her reach and yet any other person would see.
