** spoiler alert ** In the second book of the ruined series we are back in the U.S. Amy is now much closer to her dad and is living with him for most of the book. Amy becomes somewhat involved with Nathan while she is still dating Avi who is serving in the Israeli army for 3 years. Avi shows up in Chicago to surprise Amy and he shes her with Nathan and gets the wrong idea. Amy and Avi have an argument and end up breaking up. Before the book ends though the two get back together and have to live under Amy's dads rules for the rest of Avi's stay in Chicago. Their relationship is to be continued in book 3.
