Moore's characters are charmingly, hilariously human. On finding out his new girlfriend is a vampire (post-nookie) and she proves it by hanging naked upside from the rafters of their loft and reading a book from fifty feet away, his response is pretty much "that is so cool!" Moore occassionally drops in something truly dark and icky, but always manages to keep it from becoming sordid.
