compelling read. Clever twist on the old story. dark.
I was under the impression this book was a mystery/thriller. The summary on the back cover made it seem so - and the first 80 pages or so seemed to confirm. Then Mac meets God. No really. He actually meets God. And Jesus. And the Holy Spirit. This is no metaphor, dream, or hallucination, folks. Its the "real" deal. Mac and The Trinity proceed to have a philosophical discussion about man's relationship with God that takes up most of the rest of the book. The only reason I didn't quit reading immediately upon the realization that the author inteded I actually believe such an exchange occured, was to see Mac come to some kind of peace with his daughter's death. If you are pretty solidly Christian or spend your weekends engrossed in theology, this book may be for you. If you are Jewish, Pagan, Buddhist, Agnostic, Atheist or anything else, I suggest you keep your receipt.
