What can be said...this is the third installment in the Sookie Stackhouse novels and it's just as fast-paced and enjoyable as the rest. I am surprised by how invested I have become in this series. I went into it thinking that it would just satisfy my curiosity (as I've never seen the show but everyone raves about it) and have found myself purchasing every one of 'em.
This one surprised me. I thought it would be a typical chick lit and in many ways, it was. But it was a really sweet story and I enjoyed it quite a bit! I suppose that sometimes, I am still a hopeless romantic. I always want something like this to happen to me... At any rate, a cute story, quick read, and hot British guy. What more do you need?
Someone in a class recommended this series due to my love of the Ramona titles, and I can see why. Like Ramona, Anastasia's a character to whom young girls of that age can relate; she's navigating the same concerns that many her age have. By reading about her struggles, kids learn how to deal with their own. The Krupniks are moving to the suburbs, so she's getting used to a new place, finding new friends, missing old friends. There's humor, intelligence, and just a hint of tween drama.
