So I liked it. I didn't love it. But I liked it. I found the majority of the book (up until the last couple chapters) to be a little shallow and a typical mean girls type story. Lauren Oliver certainly can write and create a story that moves quickly and is full of characters that seem so real they jump off the page. The concept of the book - mean girls meets groundhog day - didn't entirely appeal to me and I was a little nervous to see how Oliver would pull it all together. I read some reviews and quite a few didn't like the ending as much - I felt just the opposite, like the ending sort of saved the book for me. I liked the ambiguity and the ability to interpret the ending how you choose to. I chose to interpret the ending a little on the depressing side, and it worked for me. Other readers can interpret it in a more positive way, and that, I'm sure, will work for them. So in the end, this story worked for me...and it only worked for me because Oliver pulled it together so well in the end. I was THIS close to putting the book down and giving up on it about a third of the way through, but I'm glad I chose to finish it up. Well worth it.
