This series shaped my entire childhood and left such happy memories. I absolutely fell in love with Anne and as I did, I fell in love with literature. As a young girl, I tried to emulate Anne and I still use phrases from the book ("kindred spirits"). This is a must-read for every young girl. The PBS movies were also fabulous! Whenever I was sick as a child, I would stay home and watch these movies. No other character has affected me as much as Anne Shirley has.
