Rigo's writing is so lyrical and poignant throughout this book. His honesty is equally moving.
I had high expectations for this book, which unfortunately turned out to not be the best way for me to start reading this. I was expecting some form of a book which would tell of shocking, terrible things that would occur in the future. Instead, I was left with the troubling knowledge that much of what Orwell wrote was somewhat true in today's society. I'm sure if I read this book right when it came out, I would have found it to be thought provoking and scandalous. Instead, I found this book to be quite boring, which as I said, was unfortunate. It took nearly 80 pages until something remotely interesting happened, and then there was nothing else. I kept waiting for a climax, and instead of a rocky, thrilling ride I took a trip through a slow-moving, flat experience. Even the ending with Room 101, I did not find that to be terrifying. All I learned out of this novel is that the human race is doomed, and no matter what one would try and do in life, one would undoubtedly fail. Therefore, I did not enjoy this book.
