Working in the library is a problem. As I read through my RSS feeds on break at work, I realized Craig Thompson's Habibi will soon be released. I'd read a sample of it from BEA and loved it. And since I had read this around the time that I read Y: The Last Man, I said, hmm, I wonder if we have a copy in the library right now. So I looked it up in the catalog, went downstairs and got it, then realized, hmm, I also read a lot of Adrian Tomine around that time, so I went upstairs to a different section and picked that up too. And when I went to check out, a book I'd had on hold had arrived, so there I was, with three more books, as if I wasn't supposed to be reading the two two-week books I'd checked out the week prior. Sigh. I sat with this book while making my big batch of chili for the week. I love this book so much more than I did the first time I read it -- finding out I'd given it a two-star Goodreads review, with no documentation of why felt like a slap in my face from Nicole of March 27, 2007. What does she really know about coming of age stories or graphic novels anyway? I'm upgrading that to a five, as it should be.
