Leibovitz, as usual, produces memorable images while Sontag provides the words. Although, it is just as easy to provide your own words and put Sontag's aside. That is part of the beauty of the book. Oh, and it looks great on my coffee table. The book is a true celebration of women and their multifaceted complexity. Or you can just look at all the nice pictures.
Takes you down a twisty path of real-life puzzles on the way to answering some "big" questions: What's success? How/why does it happen to certain people? Gladwell's stories span multiple continents, various industries/professions, every stratum of society - and he tells each story engagingly, highlighting quirky details, weaving them seamlessly into a larger theory. He wastes no words: each story has a point, which he distills into an elegant principle. Not unassailably argued, but thought-provoking and inspiring. Armed me with smart tidbits about remote corners of the world, and a heightened sense of curiosity about how funny/amazing human systems and cultures are. Compelled me to be conscientious and excellent in all endeavors.
