Glass tells a story of two sisters. I wonder if her muse was yin and yang. The story's structure (oriented around friendships) supports her exploration beautifully. Glass is a tremendous writer, because her tales are intimate and her characters are modern, familiar and uncommon. I wonder how biographical her stories are? ICU Everywhere is a lovingly sad and hopeful novel.
I would probably have given this book four stars if I were a lot younger. It's a really fun book with twists I didn't expect, a band of fun characters and a taste of that scientific feel that I tend to enjoy in books, but it was just a little young to really engage me. Great for your 10 year old.
