I enjoyed this book than I thought I would. I became more invested and impressed by it as the story progressed. I expected to feel manipulated by it, forced into tears at every page. All I'd heard was how sad it was. However, I never really cried, and I didn't feel like it took any cheap shots. In the end, this book isn't entirely about death, it's also (more?) about coming to terms with things beyond your control. Making peace and moving on. I love books where everything falls apart only to get pieced back together in the end, and you see real growth in the characters. Very good, very moving.
