I've always been fascinated by Africa, and this book delivers giving a humorous and fun view of life as a guide in Africa. Allison shares his stories in such a way to teach you about conserving Africa and some of the culture of Africa without weighing the book down. There were a few sexual innuendos, and a few bad words but otherwise fairly clean (PG-13 with a couple of F-words).
The story of royality unable to see change and move with it, this book was assigned in a conservative political theory class, which I took to fulfill a requirement and get a little insight into the "enemy." I left the class a card-carrying liberal but FASCINATED by this book. Whether or not you read it for its personification of true conservativism (not the stuff of today's republicans) the story is insightful and thought-provoking.
