Now and Zen in San Francisco was one of my favorite restaurants and I'm so sad that it closed. Having some of the recipes available from this place helps ease my sorrow. My very favorite dishes that are in this book are the carrot flan and the spinach and mushroom "Zenmelet," but there are so many other recipes worth making because almost all of Miyoko Nishimoto Schinner's recipes are delicious. Many of the recipes are easy to make although, in my opinion, quite a few are easier for experienced cooks. Only a handful of colored photos are included, but they're beautiful and they make my mouth water.
