I could barely get through this English mystery featuring an elderly lady sleuth who is a mechanical engineer and avid sailor. I ended up skimming it. Perhaps people who enjoy details about internal combustion engines and sailing minutiae would tolerate those details better than I did. Perhaps other titles by the author are better? I don't know. Hammond is prolific mystery writer who I thought I should try , but this was not a good introduction to his works.
