She seems intrigued by Cody Briggs and she has not seen the last of him, especially since he works with one of the jeep tour companies they use. When Carol sits out to watch the sunset she sees a man running over a mesa she can see he has no shirt and his hair is flowing behind him, it looks like her dream. Carol and Cody are both harboring secrets that weigh them down. Cody escapes with his Indian rituals and being in the desert. Carol just strives to work harder and make sure she is in control of every part of her life. Cody is not full Indian but he enjoys practicing some of the old rituals. Carol sees the old Indian from her dream but it seems he was not really there. It also seems that at times Cody seems to become an eagle or other animal as she watches him. This does not fit in Carol's perfect per-ordered world and even though it seems everything is pointing to the fact that Cody is her other half to make her whole Carol just won't let go of her past grief and pain. Living in Arizona I enjoy reading books where I know the areas they are talking about. The plants and cacti, balloon rides, Jeep tours, Carefree & Sedona. And the sunsets are truly beautiful over the mountains. Contains sexual situation. Book received through NetGalley for review
Definitely a good read, though it was kind of like watching one of those stilted, disconnected movies.
