Oh how I wish I could find more like Mikalatos! Such a great story that I was lost in it. Such awesome pieces of wisdom that really spoke to me. I love how it was funny and even poked fun at different stereotypes. I could relate so well, especially when "Matt" was surprised by how Jesus looked when he traveled to ancient Judea. Is it bad that I have always thought Jesus was also more like a GQ model than a homely guy? (Of course no one knows for sure...) One of my favorite passages: "There would be no point in being angry at a powerless God, becuase it wouldn't be his fault that he couldn't intervene. My anger and pain, then, were actaully evidence of a deep certainty that Jesus has power over life and death. I believed with all my heart that he could bring life into any circumstance." I was even glad about the ending, and I'm not a happy-ending sort of person. (Which is terrible, but it is, what it is.)
