Cute story about how all the other animals think the pigs must be miserable living in their conditions, so they "take care" of their "problems".
An emotional ride full of thought-provoking prose and sexy scenes. The main love interest in the story reminds me so much of some people that used to be in my life. It was hard not to have empathy for her and yet relief that I'm no longer in those relationships. I'm glad I read this one in Japan since I wouldn't want just anybody at school looking over my shoulder knowing what I was reading. Some pages are not appropriate for junior high school. :-)
This book, really is better in the original language. Which doesn't say much. It's awful. It's slow, dry, and painfully descriptive. At one point, Tolstoy takes two pages to describe Anna walking toward another character. Two pages. For ten steps. *dies* Let it be noted that I couldn't even make it halfway into this tome. It is, however, an excellent soporific.
Some of the stuff seems to work but I think my daughter my already be too old for toddler-ese. She'll be four in a few months.
