Although I don't agree with either the Jesus Seminar conclusions or how they arrive at them, I do admire Borg's fluidly eloquent writing and his passion for discovering evidence of the historical Jesus. Borg defines pre-Easter Jesus and post-Easter Jesus--the Jesus often called the Jesus of faith. I like that Borg is honest about the importance of doubt and struggle in a journey toward belief. A Christian faith that does not address doubt and struggle is a hollow and ultimately vulnerable faith.
