I tried soooo hard to read this book. My husband loves it. Lots of people love it. But I just couldn't get into it. I appreciate the awesomeness of the Burgess Shale, I swear!

This book was completely unexpected to me. I picked it up in an airport thinking it would be a quick-read-chick-lit type of book. It had tendencies of that genre... but there is something so smart about this book that it is far elevated above the pink-covered chick lit standards. Surprising, smart, engaging - I highly recommended.
