Second in the Beka Cooper series this book is a commitment. I enjoyed it but it took a while to get through. I like this series because Beka Cooper, the main character, is a strong female role model. The series is also enjoyable because Tamora Pierce, the author, is a master at creating realistic other-worlds.
For some reason I can't get anyone else to read this book. I guess most people don't want to know what happens to people's bodies after they die, but it really gives you an idea of what "donating your body to science" really means. If you've seen a body exhibit of the plastinated human corpses, then you'd probably be interested in this book.
