I LOVED this book! Personally, I loved the sarcasm & wit from page 1 & found Charley to be hilarious. I love her ADD personality (reminds me of my own) so her inner monologue just made her more of a real person to me. She's fiesty & self-confident & she knows who she is - who doesn't love a girl who names each of her breasts & ovaries? Since I read this right after reading a young adult book, it was nice to have a heroine who wasn't still trying to "find" herself. One thing I noticed that I thought was different was that there really is no "lead" male role. Most books I read end up having a guy that our heroine either meets in the beginning or already knows who ends up going on the ride with her. This book really just has Charley & then also some great side characters, like Cookie & Uncle Bob. I liked that although you can tell there is/was an attraction w/Swopes, he is not automatically the romantic love interest. Charley forms realistic relationships w/the people in her life. I have already started the next book & am still in love with Charley Davidson. I am hoping at some point we get to delve more into her relationship w/her stepmother & sister. Also - I recommend checking out Darynda's website. It's also pretty amusing & she posts some "deleted scenes" from the books :).
