Barbara Kingsolver is infectiously passionate about local food and growing plants and animals. This was such an inspiring and informative book incorporating biology, ecology, animal husbandry, politics and wonderful family anecdotes; really a pleasure to read. "Small, step-wise changes in personal habit aren't trivial. Ultimately they will, or won't, add up to having been the thing that mattered."
The Princess Bride was one of my favorite movies as a kid, and has become one of my favorite books as an adult. I never doubted for a minute the authenticity of the editor's story, or the existence of Morgenstern's un-edited history book the size of war and peace. Boy was I embarrassed when my online search for the original revealed the truth. It was a good book, worth a re-read or two.
Nice pulpy mystery novel, but much more about the characters than the mystery.
