I overall liked 'Word Freak,' but many times throughout reading the author would get very, I guess you would say, "technical" about his descriptions of the Scrabble tournaments and the game itself, and my attention would drift. It's not a bad read, but unfortunately, I think this is one of those rare instances when the movie was better than the book.
This 3rd book of 7 in the Harry Potter series is probably now my 2nd favorite (with book 7 now my favorite - then this 3rd book - followed closely by book 1 in 3rd place.) Each book gets darker and darker. Some things that I love about this book are how J.K. Rowling perfectly captures the feeling of depression in the introduction of the dementors, the message of and details of how Harry saves himself, and the time travel aspect of the story. I love a good time travel story!
It's a good funny read!
