I am enjoying this one so far. I think it's funny that so many reviewers are all upset over the "Wastoid" narrator. I hate to say it, but I have known many grad. students just like him. The book and its narrator feel very "real" to me as a result. It lost me near the end... just went on too long I think. But if it had been 75 pages less, I think I would have loved it. :)
This was an original novel about a man who is badly burned who falls in love with a crazy gargoyle sculptor from the medieval ages and finds his past and his future--and also redemption. The book was very creative and well written--weavelessly back and forth through the ages. You have to have an imagination to enjoy this book and I thoroughly enjoyed this ride.
