The 'big daddy' out of all of Amis' books. I found this one easy to finish as I remember, unlike some of his other work. A seminal novel and one of the touchstones of the post-modern genre no doubt. I love the way he injects those little snide asides, such as the trash jungle adventure novel, in the style of Clive Cussler, that the writer starts to read. He goes on to describe it as being a "filthy little piece of shit really, but there's the guy and the girl and, well, I'm hooked." Hilarious.
