I read a library copy of this book, then went out and bought a copy for my shelf. It isn't a perfect book, but the conceit is wonderful, and it earns the emotional responses that it provokes. Or maybe I'm just a sucker for time travel novels. Who knows.
I like this. I don;t know if I would recommend it because everyone would find it boring I think but after being forced to read it, it was generally ok. About a painter Claude who can't seem to be accepted anywhere. He has a bad relationship with his wife. The entire book is pretty much depressing. he is suffering through every little thing.
