** spoiler alert ** In an effort to read more of DWJ's works and based on the glowing reviews of this story, I gave it another shot after quickly discarding it a few year's back. Sadly, still just not my sort. The characters and I did not get along. I found Polly very off-putting and the "romance" did not have much emotional pull. Alas.
Another installment in the Carl Hiaasen cavalcade of weirdos, although with a few more likable characters than usual thrown in the mix. He uses his familiar setting of south Florida, and his familiar outlandish plot lines and cast members. But I'm not even going to attempt to summarize the story for you, as it's just another strange ride through strange lands, even by Hiaasen's standards. That being said, I liked it, as I usually like his work. Funny and weird, man.
