So far the series isn't too bad. After the short story I was really worried and while some of the things in the book speak out against organized religion and cast a bad light on religious beings there were still some nice messages in there specifically about Taylor's client. On to the next book which will determine if I read the 3-in-1 book I picked up from the library (not realizing it wasn't the first three books in the series).
This wasn't what I was expecting at all. The parts of the book that are set in London are a little reminiscent of the Bridget Jones books, but the African parts are just so powerful. Incredibly hard to read – and particularly depressing given that it's now two decades after this was published and things still haven't changed. Challenging, but well worth it.
