This doesn't need an intro, but I'll give it one anyway. You haven't read good romance, or I'd even go so far as to say, good genre fiction, until you've read this. When I was done, I wished I could read it for the first time again. It really is that good.
Another Jodi Picoult book I read thinking it would be good. It was as disappointing as The Pact was for me. Both of them followed the same formula -- small town rocked by a horrible event, lots of courtroom drama, teenaged boy locked up and dealing with being in jail, parents trying to come to terms with children they thought they knew. The courtroom antics always have this giant buildup but fall flat.
What a great series! I read this one in almost one sitting. I could not put it down.
